Kingman Turquoise Bracelet, Real Kingman AZ Stone Bead Stretch Mala Bracelet

$ 16.00

Kingman turquoise is best known for its gentle and deep sky blue shades and some blue-green and occasionally pyrite inclusions. The presence of copper within the gem is what provides these blue variations. The Kingman turquoise mine, operated by the Colbaugh family in Arizona, is one of the last remaining commercially producing mines in the United States. Evidence suggests turquoise was mined in the surrounding areas dating as far back as 600 AD.

Turquoise has been used in jewelry nearly as long as it’s been known to humanity. Turquoise is also used as a ceremonial or decorative stone, a practice dating back to ancient times. It’s been used in Native American crafts and jewelry for centuries. It was sacred to many tribes, including the Apache, Navajo, Pueblo, and Zuni.
