Detroit Opera House Chandelier, Ceramic Ornament

$ 25.00

Detroit Opera House Chandelier, Ceramic Ornament: Designed from the jaw dropping Czechoslovakian crystal chandelier in the Ford Lobby. While the original 1921 fixture was stolen when the theatre was in ruin, this nearly-identical iteration currently on display is on permanent loan from the Henry Ford Museum, and has quite a pedigree -- having once hung in the Waldorf Astoria in New York City!

• Full color sublimation print
• Glazed ceramic
• Both sides printed: front chandelier; back MOT
• 2.5" round
• Theatre-curtain-red nylon cord, ready to hang

The latest dye-based printing techniques provide bright, crisp colors and rich blacks. Solid one-piece construction: No glued or sandwiched materials to scratch off or fall apart.

Following an extensive renovation and transformation, Michigan Opera Theatre reopened the old Capitol Theatre as the DETROIT OPERA HOUSE in 1996 with a gala concert featuring Pavarotti. With the goal to restore the building to its original splendor, no cost was spared in restoring every detail that architect C. Howard Crane incorporated to sweep Detroiters off their feet, including this spectacular chandelier.

Photographed in the Detroit Opera House. Designed and hand-printed in the USA in our Detroit, Michigan studio.
